How To: Nude Smoky Eyeshadow Look

Originally appearing online at on April 22nd, 2015, this post is my best detailing of how to do a nude smoky eye look. Enjoy!

The nude smoky eye is a really simple look that’s great to master. It’s fit for the office, and isn’t a heavy make-up look for spring.

For this look, use Urban Decay’s Eye Shadow Primer Potion to prevent the shadow from running or creasing, and the Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette.

First, put a dab of the eye shadow potion onto your finger and apply to each eyelid. It looks nude, but dries clear.

Second, take an all-over shadow brush and on one half brush it against the Foxy color, a cream shadow, and the other half against W.O.S., a light nude pink. Dust all over your eyelid, and repeat the process for the other half.

Third, take a crease or blending brush and dust it in the Naked 2 shade. This is a light brown color. Start to apply by brushing vertically in the outer edge of your eyelid, then continuing to brush over the crease. Stop halfway above the eye, parallel to your pupil.

To complete the look, apply a nude or white eyeliner to the inner part of your eye, and then finish off with your favorite mascara. This look is intended to open and brighten your eyes.

Other products to use for a natural makeup look would be Benefit’s Fake Up, an under-the-eye concealer that moisturizes and eliminates the look of dark circles, a matte face primer, and Supergoop!’s CC Cream.

▪ Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion – $20

▪ Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette – $29

▪ Benefit Fake Up – $24

▪ Supergoop CC Cream – $32
