Summer 2014 Sunscreen Review

I’ve been going to the beach a lot lately because I vowed not to be a shut-in this summer. See, growing up in a beach town that has nearly 14 million visitors a year tends to make you shy to the outside.

So for every Saturday, I’ve headed up to my favorite spot in Myrtle Beach on the north end. I started out using the Walgreen’s brand Clear Complexion Sheer Facial Sunscreen SPF 30, and Coppertone’s Broad Spectrum SPF 50 spray. Both worked as well as can be expected, the spray went on very light and the Walgreen’s sunscreen was a thick, cream.

I did get burned twice, probably less the sunscreen’s fault and more yours truly’s. I mean, when you’re flying solo it’s hard to apply sunscreen to your back.

But I came across this gem – Coppertone for Sensitive Skin in SPF 50.

I’ve only used it once and it did the job well. I didn’t burn at all, not even on my back and I had my mom apply the sunscreen an hour before I left for the beach and dropped her off at work. And that was the only time I applied it. Coppertone Sensitive Skin SPF 50 in white, green, and blue bottle

I’m just stoked there’s a sunscreen on the market, that isn’t hard to fine or expensive, for folks like me with sensitive skin.

How about y’all? What are your favorite sunscreen brands?
