This is promptly when my phone died. RIGHT BEFORE the panda exhibit.

This is Pinata Protest. Check out their album El Valiente.

Guttermouth in San Diego; more of a crowd shot

This is a very blurry shot of Guttermouth. I got to see a punk show in Southern California. I lived.

San Diego Museum of Art located in Balboa Park

I loved seeing everything from the Islamic Art to the Italian Renaissance paintings. They even had a couple of Rodin pieces.

The Lost Post: Burt’s Bees Revitalizing Lip Balm

Mmm. So, ole Burt’s has been a longstanding favorite of mine. It’s always kept my lips moisturized any time of year.

This flavor was…weird. As a food combo, blueberry and dark chocolate sounds ah-mahz-ing. In a lip balm – weird.

But.

Did it do the job? Hell yeah it did. I mean, I’d still be using it if I didn’t catch strep back in November. (Yeah, that’s how far behind I am on writing…Don’t judge. Life happens.)

It has almost a creaminess to its application and went on thick. The more I applied it, the less often I had to apply it. If that makes sense. In comparison to EOS and Chapstick, it’s far better than EOS in terms of moisturisation, however, it’s about equal with Chapstick.

Going to California — Part Uno

I went to California a few weeks ago to get lost. Balboa Park on a sunny day, in San Diego, California

By that time, I had stopped posting on here, which was bumming me out. I had run out of things to say. Some people who I thought were friends said and done some not-so-friendly things.

But that’s not the point of the blog – the negative stuff.

I went to California for five days so I could breathe.

And, I saw a friend who had moved away about seven years ago and would only come back into town sparingly. (And after paying for my plane ticket, I can understand why.) We went out around San Diego and visited a really cool beer bar, got good Mexican food at a place called Miguel’s, then saw a punk show the next day. It was awesome to be treated with a level of kindness I’m not used to seeing men treat women with, both personally and observationally.

I also went to the zoo while I was there and saw so many different kinds of bears. (I just really love bears, guys.) I was too chicken to go to the reptile room. I also wandered around Balboa Park and checked out the museums there. Some of the art mentioned in Monuments Men was at the art museum. San Diego Zoo collage

It reassured me that nice things can happen and people are good – you just have to set a standard for yourself.

Eucerin Hand Cream

The Lost Post: Eucerin Hand Cream

So remember the thickness of Burt’s Bees and the airiness of Caudalie? Eucerin was a happy medium between the two.

Eucerin Hand CreamIt was unscented and the moisture it provided didn’t last quite as long as Burt’s, but it did last a bit longer than Caudalie. If you need a quick fix on the lotion front, choose this one. Besides, it was like .97 cents at Walgreens.

As for a favorite, Caudalie is still my favorite but I’m too poor (cough cheap cough) to afford it.

Almay color + care liquid lip balm Review

Maybe I’ll give this a buy next time I’m in the store.

S.A. The Writer

About a month ago I participated in a Secret Santa exchange, and I received lovely gifts including two Almay color + care liquid lip balms. When I review items I will try to remain completely honest. If you are not aware of this product,it looks like a gloss but is actually a balm. I live in the Midwest, and as many of you know Winter has been insane. My lips can get dry,and chapped from the coldness, so I try to keep them moisturized. Getting enough water is an important way to keep your lips healthy, but sometimes a balm gives extra help too.

Getting Lost – My Way To California

I’m sorry.

I lost sight of myself and let my readers, subscribers, and the universe down.

Boy drama, friend drama, and loneliness consumed me and I stopped writing. It’s funny – the one thing I enjoy above all always suffers when things go wrong.

And letting boys hurt you to the point of stopping what you do is not what this blog is about dammit!

So I promise from now on I’m going to try to blog as often as I can.

Next week, I’ll tell y’all about California.
